Madras 18 - Expressing and exploring!!

For the last few days, letters from Siddharth and talks from Reet Inspired me to write this post.

Siddharth letters are all about how is he exploring the different faces of world like friendship, love, sadness, caring, happiness etc... His question are very interesting, whom we should trust? Why we talk on different level to different people? How we are happy and sad at same time? What is life? I feel very blessed when you ask me these kind of questions. You have been asking me questions since you started talking, and I have always enjoyed them and answered them to my best level of knowledge.

In this post I am not going to answer any of your question, I am writing here so that when you both grow up and build your own nest. I come here and read and enjoy my days of parenting with you.

I want to remember always that I have thoroughly enjoyed a complete contrast in my parenting to both of you.

Siddharth , You are at exploring your world of question and where Reet my younger one and my chote sai you are expressing so beautiful. You are so intelligent that you always amuse me with your talks.

Few days back you got up in the morning and said Mom I want to say good morning to Ipad.

Today when I was resting you came looking for me with Ipad in your hand and we have a beautiful conversation:

Reet: Mom can I sit here
Me:  Yes Reet, close your iPad.
Reet: Mom, I am going out, and after few seconds you came again and said Mom don't get up. You are sleeping so sleep.

You love to play roles of different people and instruct us to call you by those roles. You love to play role of your friend Poornima, Aru Aunty and Bhaiya...

I feel so happy and blessed with two of you around and love you my children. May you experience this beautiful world with your ways to cherish!!

Madras 17 - On your own!!

When today you used these words, I realized that while you are getting complete independent to do everything on your own,we all are living our life on our own at different places. Siddharth is in Pathashaala, Your Papa traveling all around the world ( not stayed more than three nights at one place) and you, me at Madras.

It has been the most wonderful year in all of our life. We all are learning and experiencing new life at our places independently. When we are together it feels like we are always living together with each other.

Yesterday when you and I were cycling, you were first hesitant to ride on your own. You wanted me to push your cycle, in my heart I knew you can ride full paddle. I shared with you that you can do on your own now. And you did one full round, while we were coming back you noticed that many people around us do things on their own. A lady is bringing flower, Bhaiya is riding bike and you even mentioned about Siddharth also riding on his own. Now, if i tell you to do anything you will confirm with me, Oh on my own. here are the things you do on your own:
  1.  You can dress and undress yourself.
  2. You can carry a watermelon from the car parking to home and i love the way you expressed baba re baba re at the weight you were carrying.
  3. On shoes you wear what you like to and that since you turned three. And it is the most difficult task to take you out from shoe section in any shop.
  4. You choose your dress since last one year and it takes very difficult for us to convince your Papa on your choice sometime.
  5. You eat your food on your own.
  6. You have your way of doing everything and you do not like to follow others. This you have picked up very well from me. You are just like me on this.
  7. You can implement things very fast, this is another thing you inherited from me.
  8. Today when i was adding masala to sabzi, you wanted to mix certain ingredients and you were very happy when i gave one masala peti to you.
  9. You love to talk on phone and make your own conversation.
  10. The most amazing thing, you handle knife and scissors very well and help me in cutting vegetables.
Bhai is amazed on your way of handling kitchen knife so beautiful June 2015

Wearing your shoe Feb 2015

Playing with pattern and making your own design Sep 2015

The only thing you still sleep on my tummy and I am going to cry the day you will sleep on your own, my chote sai. I love the way you are growing and making your understanding of this beautiful world. I wish you become a very amazing girl!!

Madras 16 - Cute Little talks by little one

Reet my little one, my chote sai. You are learning too fast then I could imagine you to grow at this speed and understanding. Your command at voice and language is very good at the age of 3 years and six months. You can win anyone heart by your cute looks and talks.

You know how to make a conversation more dramatic and get things done for you. You can engage all of us with just a smile. Siddharth is home for his summer holiday and house is filled with so much of love, laughter and your naughtiness from both of you. Authority you show him and display in front of us with your brother it seems that you are the one who is more demanding and loving at same time.

There are few sentences which I want to make a note here... I know sooner you will be talking like us and then i will like to come here and cherish memories of these talks with you.
  •  I want to take a bath: You love water and along with bath you wanna to give bath to your dolly, wash your cloths and love to hear song from me.. ( Let it shine...) if i forget you never forget to remind me by your cute little way.. Mumma Reet ko  want to shine chahiyee... And yesterday you even gave a bath to my iphone.
  • I want to do a ipad: When we say no you are ready with your strategy which is different for everyone. With Papa you just need to show him your sad face, with Vir jee you are the most tough he has to save himself from you. and with me you will say keep it here... and when i am not around you will take it.
  •   I want to do padai ( when Siddharth sits for his homework you need all that what he is doing)
  • I want to draw:) This is your favourite pass time and you do it very beautifully i will write one more post with pictures.
  • I want pani :) Sometimes you wakes up in the night and ask for same.
  • I want to eat like this:) You never like me to feed you and eat your food on your own since age of two years.
  • Wear appe appe:) You started this now and you can make yourself dress very beautifully. You love wearing dresses and choose your dress on your own. Sometimes you want to dress like me, wear a kurta and sari.
  • Want to color:) You have made some beautoful color pictures with your fingers paints.
  • Wash my hands there:) You can spend hours doing this.
  • Want the computer with the song:) Your favourite ones are Punjabi dance, Lungi dance and pani pani
  • Want to put a picture Other song with phone ok mamma :) means you want to listen above mentioned song on my phone

You are very independent my child, And you knew that I love you more when you call Siddharth vir jee and you do it when you want me to feel happy.

Madras 15 - Pathashaala

April 3rd, we went to Siddharth school for inauguration of study center. We all were so delighted to meet him , but you were the one who was expressing it so beautiful and in a very excited way. From the gate of the school you were calling his name.

You hugged him, kissed him and do not wanted to be away from him, When I see both of you loving each other I never want you to separate. Here are some moments of togetherness.
When we were coming out we cried a lot and do not wanted to be separated from him. You started saying that Siddharth is in boarding school, I rarely used this term. When we sat in the car you wished to stay with him. I know you two are the most understanding children I have ever seen.

I am writing this post for both of you as a sweet reminder in your memory lane, that it is good for Siddharth to be in Pathshaala as it has shaped his life in many amazing ways. The most beautiful thing is he is enjoying his life to the best. My dear children, always enjoy this separateness the way you both do when you are not together. I hope you will always appreciate your bond and  be there for each other always. Amen!!

Madras 12 - Conversation with Little One..

Now a days it is so much of fun to have little conversation with you. Your questions are filled with curiosity and mostly you have your own answer to your question, which I love hearing from you. At age of 35 months you could talk in full sentences. I remember your first full sentence was Reet is wearing shoes. I love the way you say your own name in the conversation.

You have learned to express your needs, sorrow, happiness and joy through words/ sentences now. We speak in three languages at home, and you can communicate one full sentence in one language. Here is some record of few conversations we had.

You: Mumma what is this.
Me: You tell.
You: This is a Drum
Me: Reet this is a guitar
You: This is a drum guitar and after some time you say this is a guitar with a twink in your eyes.

You: Mumma what are you doing?
Me: I am cooking vegetable
you: Oh vegetable wow!!

You: She wants to touch a dog.
Me: How Reet
You: I do not know

# On the way to the car I do not like to sit in a car seat

# On seeing your father driving, पापा गाड़ी चला रहे है

# You sing Jingle bells on seeing Santa made with lights.

# Your father bought some dresses and you asked innocently can I try?

# You are riding a scooter in a shop and to my surprise you left it  by saying to yourself I cannot take scooter.

# Reet is crying.

# You cannot see me upset like your brother, you come immediately to me and ask me Mama what happened and then you say mama I am sorry.

# And when you do not know how to do something you say in a very cute voice. मुझे नही पता कैसे चलते है

# You love wearing dresses and on that I will write a new post. Whenever I wear cloths for work you come to me and appreciate by saying wow nice dress.

# You close the door of the room, when you do something which you know that you should not be doing. Most of the time it is when you are using my cream and lipstick.

We all are in love with you, love with your innocence,  and love the way you shower so much of unconditional love. Sometimes I see my reflection in you and feel so proud and scared at same time. I pray that you do not grow up as honest with your thoughts as me. I pray that you should be more smarter than me.

Madras 12 - Translations

I do not know how you learned to translate words in different language. We speak three language at home Hindi, Punjabi and English, and you even can translate into Tamil. Tamil is spoken to you by our staff at Srishti. I am amazed how did you learn to do same. Children hear and they speak. But you have an ability to think and belong to same. For a record here are the few words you even started at the age of 20 months.

1. You will say Water पानी water and now you have added Tani to same in Tamil
2. Food खाना Food
3. Study पड़ाई study

and you could say your name and others also at age of 20 months. Now at three you translate full sentence.

1. Muma what are you doing?

म्‍मा आप क्या कर रहे हो1 म्‍मा आप इंटरनेट कर रहे हो 1 muma you are doing internet.

2. Reet wants water. रीत को पानी चाहिए1

I am feeling great at your translation and making a post here for you and all of us to enjoy...

Madras - 11 Happy 3rd Birthday

You are three now. Time flies, I still have the memory of your birth very fresh in my mind. Your birth story is very amazing.

You have your own way of doing things and that was clear from your birth also. Doctors said I will deliver you on 6th Jan, but you decided 7thJan for you. I believe you wanted the same date of your  brother. The day was like this, I went to hospital in the morning of 7th and they started giving me induced pains. It was continued for almost 12 hours and my water bag did not break. Your doctor Witty Rana whom we chose in the 39th week was very much hopeful to have a vaginal delivery. You had cord around your neck and vaginal delivery in this case are little difficult, I believe you and me were all set for same. You were very brave inside and supported me to go through this journey wonderfully. I vomited before you came out and that was very unusual for me. The doctor was checking me regularly and she said that you will see this beautiful earth around 930 but at 715 I felt you wanted to come out, nurse rushed to call the doctor and at exact 730 in the night you cried. We knew in our heart that it’s a girl and we invited you in our life. We named you the day I conceived you. You are Reet for us.

The last three years with you have been challenging, wonderful and spiritual for me with your growth. You are my shadow; you have traveled more than any other member in our family at this age.

At three you play on your own, and I can do my things now. Earlier you will sit to insist on my lap while I am working on computer but now you are happily exploring your toys.

You are very expressive child and famous among all my friends. They all love you more than they love me. You also express and gives love to them, sometimes I also get amaze at your expression. You are full of love and child like you are very rare.

On this 3rd birthday of you my dear little Sai I wish you a great life ahead.

Chennai - 10 Vocublary

This post is copied from a letter ( Sept 17, 2014) your father has written to your brother when he asked what all words Reet can say... you learn all this after we shifted to Madras. Children learn by seeing and listening, You are a fast learner at the age of 33 months...

# for her Kurkare is 'kurki'

# any fruit except apple and banana is 'orange'

# she can take few tough names very clearly - vedhema & Alangara (working in srishti, puglendi (driver), dhanlaxmi (our maid)

# she just adores 'lungi dance' song and can listen to that all the time. You should see her excitement when that song plays. And yes, she runs to find own glasses (we bought her own glasses in mumbai) as the song starts playing because she loves dancing on that song with her glasses on! As the song says "anna ke jaisa chashma laga ke.."

# she loves watching old videos on my ipad, especially the ones we shot in Pathashaala during our visit.

# she's addicted to ipad in a way and you should look at her when she comes to me and ask for the ipad. She will come to me with twinkling eyes so that i mellow down, point using her eyes to ipad and says to me in hush-hush tone 'papa ipad khelna hai' and if I say no, she will first make very masoom sa face, on 2nd no she will hit me and on 3rd no will start crying!! She knows one of the three things will work on me! Total natakbaz!

# she loves going to swings and it is become so difficult to get her back home! She will go from swing to slide to see-saw and will keep repeating this cycle. She starts chatting with kids there and try telling them about Kavita, kavita uncle (our neighbours), dhanlaxmi (our maid), or something about srishti or some event during the day. And you know she loves to talk!!

# for her dustbin is dustpatin

# and  when she need iphone you will say Reet wants to charge the ipad and she will say this is my phone, ये म्‍मा का फोन नही है1 she wants to keep phone to her side and then she will take it quickly to take some pictures.

On the way back home, she likes to spend time near the I block tower. She will run away from me and get into any elderly lady's lap by calling her Nani or Dadi and will start saying 'bye papa bye papa'

when i read this post i feel very delighted. I am sharing here as a memory to create for you to come to this space and read..

Chennai 9 - First term of Siddharth

Siddharth your first term has been completed at Pathshaala along with first holidays at home. When you came home, you were completely transformed. This materialistic world where we live in, seemed alien to you. You forget how to open a plastic wrapper from a toothbrush and cheese slice pack, as you did not do all these things in your first term of four months of Pathashaala.

The most amazing thing happened to you is self reflection of your own thoughts and your confidence.   We all were happy to see you back home but how these two months passed we did not realise. We did all kind of fun , studies, discussion, fights, love and all.

Your Nanni and Daddy joined us at Madras for holidays. You had a great time with them. Daddy became your permanent teacher for your hindi and other homework.

You enjoyed your English and project work the most. Here are few glimpse of our first holiday spent together.

1. You were so kind and helping toward your little sister Reet.
2. You were happily posing for picture below in this blog.
3. You became fond of your bicycle that you even wanted to ride Reet cycle.
4. You finished your homework without much help from me.
5. Your reading of books is as amazing as it was always that one day in library you finished seven books in one hour.
6. You enjoyed visit to Blossoms book house and were delighted to see book Winnie the Pooh I liked and bought for myself.

We cried when you were at school again. I know both of us are going through an emotions of being happy, sad and exciting.

I wish you a great time at Pathashaala. I have chosen some pics of you and your sister to remind us how we spend our days at home.
